The working length here is short — 14.5 cm (±5%) — and that is the figure to check against the depth of your still: there should be clearance between the fitting hole and the bottom. For a wide, shallow tank the extended version of the same power may suit better.

Two kilowatts is the everyday middle of the series: the still comes up to temperature without overloading an ordinary socket. The 14 or 16 mm fitting, 60 mm centre distance and M3 terminal thread are shared with the neighbouring models, so moving up or down in power needs no change to the hole.

The tube is stainless steel, 10 mm in diameter. It works only under water; switched on dry, the element will not survive.
