Blunt blades give themselves away: you have to lean on the auger, the shavings come up fine and wet, and the hole comes out with a lip and off-round. New blades go on in a few minutes and the auger runs under its own weight again.

This pair fits Zhytomyr, Tonar, Leningrad and Aida screw augers in the 150 and 130 mm sizes. Before ordering, check your auger's diameter and the shape of the original blades: the geometry here follows the factory pattern, so the blades sit in their seats without any fitting and do not wobble.

The steel is hardened; the edge lasts more than a season and does not chip. Two blades per set. When fitting them, clean the seats of ice and rust — a thin film under the heel changes the cutting angle and the auger starts to chew rather than cut.
