For lifting rather than turning: a piece of pork fat off the grate, meat out of the bottom of a cauldron, a steak held steady under the knife. The two tines are 45 mm apart at the tips, wide enough to hold a piece level.

At 420 mm overall your hand stays well back from the heat, and the 140 mm working part reaches into a deep pot. Tines are food-grade stainless steel; the wooden handle is 135 mm long with a guard between wood and metal, so a greasy hand cannot slip forward onto the hot part.
