Immersion water heater – 1.5 kW

Choose this rating for a saucepan, a kettle or a camp pot. It brings a few litres to the boil quickly yet stays within what an ordinary socket handles comfortably; for a bucket, step up to the stronger model, and for a single mug the smaller ones will do.

The element is stainless steel: it will not discolour or rust in hot water, and any scale that settles comes off with a soak in vinegar. The cord is a 2×0.5 two-core flexible lead, 1.0 m long.

Submerge the coil fully, keep the water below the handle, and never plug it in dry. Wipe it dry after use and it will last for years.
